ORGANIZATION: Holistic Riding Equestrian Therapy
Please visit the new page to apply.
HOLISTIC RIDING EQUESTRIAN THERAPY (HRET) is passionately committed to empowering the lives of individuals with varied physical, emotional, cognitive, and social abilities through the spirit of the horse! HRET offers a variety of skill appropriate classes meeting the needs of riders from preschoolers on our ponies to independent riders on our program safe horses. We teach both mounted, unmounted, and farm experience classes.
We require volunteers to commit to a regular schedule of a minimum of four hours weekly. We need consistent volunteers who will act as side walkers (walking next to the rider at all times), horse leaders, helpers with the morning farm experience classes, and helpers in various other admin positions. This is a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Please consider joining our organization, as the more volunteers we have, the more participants we can teach! You do NOT need experience with horses to volunteer! We will teach you everything you need to know!
We have afternoon/evening riding classes, field trips and summer camps. Field trips and camps consist of both riding and a "farm experience" curriculum.
We also need help with marketing, graphic design, fundraising, grant writing, event coordination, website design, property repair and maintenance, gardening/landscaping, legal services, barn chores, electrician/HVAC/plumbing, and much more. If you have talent to share and time to give, we can use your help!
Training is required to be PATH Intl (Professional Assoc. of Therapeutic Horsemanship) compliant.
We generally having trainings monthly, which we provide free of charge! We offer additional horse leader and herd care/barn work trainings, to those who show an aptitude and interest.
PLEASE RSVP to hold your SPOT for the next training and get paperwork and information: hretvolunteer@gmail.com
