Volunteer drivers for our Concentric and Collective Care programs make it possible for New Americans to attend support groups or workshops on important topics like education, personal health, American systems, community leadership, financial management and much more. Volunteer drivers pick up teen girls from school or women from their homes and bring them to Treetops Collective in time for workshops, then bring them safely home afterward.

About Treetops Collective

Location:

906 S Division Ave, Grand Rapids, MI 49507, US

Mission Statement

We are a cross-cultural movement that seeks to connect with and invest in New American leaders, together transforming our communities into places where everyone can belong.

Description

The Concentric Program is our largest program, offered to refugee/immigrant women and teen girls each year. The program is split into language groups (8 groups in the women's program, 4 groups in the teen program), and each group is led by a New American woman who shares that language. These women and teens build community with each other throughout the year, connecting one another to opportunities and resources, and covering a variety of monthly topics. During their time in the program, each member gets partnered with a volunteer who walks alongside them in a mutual friendship. These volunteers are called Cross-Cultural Partners, and the idea is to build further social connection/community, learning from one another and supporting each other.
