Thank you for your interest in joining Care for Real's volunteer team!

Care for Real is a food pantry located in the Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods of Chicago. We are currently experiencing a large increase in need in our community. We provided 73% more grocery visits in 2021 than in 2020. We could not have done this without our amazing volunteer team.

We have opportunities available for volunteers wishing to serve occasionally, monthly, weekly or more! Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Saturday from 8:30-4pm and on two evenings a week. Some of our current volunteer needs are:

• Food distribution: help provide groceries to our neighbors in need during food distributions.
• Food packing: help pack bags of groceries
• Clothing closet: organizing our clothing closet and sorting donations
• Pet Pantry: distributing pet food at our monthly pet pantry
• Reception desk: staff our reception desk and welcome visitors
• Warehouse support: stock shelves, unload deliveries and other jobs
