The Friends of the Cornelius Public Library is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the library through volunteer activities, donations, and fundraising to help the library be a successful part of the community.

Cornelius Public Library: "Our Place" Our new library is the place where our community discovers the joy of reading, is inspired to life-long learning and enrichment, and feels empowered to unify and celebrate our diverse population.

Description

The Cornelius Library has served the community for over 100 years. The library is a department in the City of Cornelius, as well as one of 15 Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) member libraries that share a countywide collection of about 1.6 million items.
All of our programs and services are free to the community. Join us for a class, cultural event, and/or kids program! Get connected with free WiFi, use Microsoft Word and Internet.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The group meets once a month for about an hour and volunteers in many different ways throughout the year. There is lots of flexibility in choosing how involved and/or which projects you want to assist with. The Watermelon Spit Contest is my fave.
  • There is a $12 a year membership fee that helps the Friends raise money for library programs.
