Great opportunity to network with filmmakers and professionals in the film industry at Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series, an Academy Qualifying film festival for narrative shorts devoted to women of color. Film lovers and enthusiasts are encouraged to join.

We're seeking greeters, ushers and professionals with customer relations experience to assist us in welcoming our audience to the festival on Oct. 19-21, 2024. Additional dates will be added. Festival takes place in Brooklyn & Harlem (10027).

It is an ideal opportunities for a group wishing to volunteer and enjoy an inspiring weekend event enjoying community and film!

Mission Statement

African Voices Communications, Inc is a non-profit arts organization devoted to supporting art, literature and film by artists of color.

Description

Founded in 1992, the organization publishes a national literary magazine and sponors community programs for emerging artists including literary readings, writers conferences and workshops, a film festival for women of color and other events. African Voices runs the Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series and Get Your Read On!, an arts literacy program for young people in low income communities.
