Know how to play with a puppy, walk on a leash, socialize, and expose the puppy to all situations. Service Dog in Training. Puppy meetups and basic obedience class. Have fun, lots of love, goes with you to learn about all of life. Time frame ages: 2-18 months.

Lots of fun, enjoy puppyhood! Lots of hard work too. The community is here to support the process and you can be part of the Poodle Palooza Fun too!

Our vision is for the mobility-impaired community to live full, vibrant lives and achieve FUNctional independence with or without the assistance of a canine companion. In addition, we offer educational events for the community at large to understand what a mobility service dog is. We seek to create for all people with mobility challenges a user-friendly pathway with new and trusted tools, enabling active participation in the world at large.

Description

In addition to training Mobility Service Dogs, MSD-WCP provides training, education, and support to mobility-impaired individuals to assist them in navigating and overcoming the many obstacles that they encounter on a daily basis. MSD-WCP promotes lifestyle changes for the disabled handlers with healthy food, yoga, and modalities to create stronger, healthier humans. MSD-WCP also plays a key role in the community by educating people and businesses to understand the role of a Service Dog TEAM. MSD-WCP seeks to create a user-friendly pathway for mobility-impaired individuals by providing them and their communities with new and trusted tools to enable active participation in the world at large.

In the interest of making the disabled population’s interface with the community smooth and hassle-free, we offer Education and Outreach Programming, The Reading Circle and Paws that Empower, in the greater community to educate businesses, schools, and individuals on just what a service dog is and does for its handler. MSD-WCP’s current activities and programming include Puppy Raising & Service Dog Training Program; Mobility Service Dog Placement Program; Education and Outreach Program for Mobility Impaired Individuals and Community at Large: Service Dog Handler, Community Events, Business, Schools, etc.; and Advocacy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 14
  • Orientation or Training
  • 4-6 months. Raising up a Service Dog in Training. The puppy may go with you everywhere as they are exposed to all of life preparing to be a Service Dog with a disabled handler.
  • Post one a week on facebook. Take photos. Do basic obedience. Consistency. Read the puppy raising manual. Have integrity, compassion, and kindness.
