Litter threatens the health of the plants and animals that call the Preserves home, but we can do something about it! Rally your friends and family members and come out to Camp Bullfrog Lake for a targeted shoreline cleanup in honor of National Cleanup Day.
Volunteer as an individual or form a team and tackle the trash that accumulates along the shoreline, posing a hazard to birds and aquatic animals including frogs and fish.
Litter is a serious problem, but the cleanup will be fun. Forest Preserve Staff will work to deploy groups to different sections of the shoreline. Compete with fellow volunteers to see who can collect the most trash. Get photographed with your weirdest piece of litter-one person’s trash might be your "Catch of the Day". All participants earn serious bragging rights.
Trash grabbers, gloves and bags and refreshments will be provided. Wearing rubber boots is highly encouraged. After the cleanup, stay for our annual Party for the Preserves event with live music, guided hikes and family-friendly activities.
