The Y's Thanksgiving Morning Turkey Trot Charity 5K is a family event that raises urgently needed funds to support children and families in Central Maryland. The Y serves thousands of children and families in the region, and each year the demand for financial aid for Y youth programs grows. Volunteers play a critical role towards a successful event, assisting with needs before, and on, Thanksgiving morning.
Volunteer needs: Race day set-up, Race registration, Packet pick-up, Food/Beverage Table, Mile Sign Holders, Water station team, Walkers/Runners, Odd Job Runners, Finish Line Assistants, Photographer, Parking/Traffic Attendants, Race day breakdown

Open to all, our programs support three core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Operate at hundreds of Y sites and community locations throughout Central Maryland we impact hundreds of thousands of community members. Through grant funded programs and Y Financial Assistance scholarships made possible through generous community donations, thousands of youth who are financially vulnerable and their families are given the same fair chance to thrive in school and in life that each of us needs and deserves.
