Neighborhood Youth Association is a nonprofit organization that provides academic tutoring, leadership development and life skills to low-income and at-risk youth. We are based in Venice, and serve students after school from south and west LA.
As part of our leadership program, NYA provides elective classes. We would like to offer a robotics class. We are flexible on the time and can work with the volunteers' schedules. We would like to offer this class to upper elementary students (grades 3-5). The time commitment is once a week for the school year, in the afternoon.
We do not require prior teaching experience, but are looking for people who are passionate about contributing to the community and are willing to create their own curriculum.

Description
NYA offers services that are long term and concentrated, adapted to meet the individual needs of each child and are measured against tangible goals. We have locations in Venice, Mar Vista (West LA), Downtown LA, Mid-City, and South LA/Harbor Gateway.
