Volunteer in the Gardens!
The many and diverse gardens at beautiful Shinn Park need you! Join in Tuesday mornings 10 to 12 when volunteers weed, plant, water, mulch, deadhead, prune, and weed some more . . . and then enjoy refreshments in the park's cottage.

Do you love to garden or would you like to learn? Then consider volunteering your time with the Friends of Heirloom Flowers - a volunteer garden club responsible for maintaining the flower gardens at Shinn Historic Park & Arboretum - a Fremont Historical Park. We are looking for volunteers to work with us on Tuesday mornings from 10 am to noon at the park located at 1251 Peralta Blvd., (off Mowry Avenue) Fremont and we hope that you will consider membership in our garden club.

Your schedule is busy? We do have Saturday morning opportunities available from time to time so let us know if you would like to be on our Saturday list. We hope to hear from you soon! If we can answer any questions for you be sure to call or write! Thanks for your interest.

**If you are a group of 10 or more we may be able to schedule a special volunteer opportunity for your group on an alternate date.**

**WE CAN ONCE AGAIN ACCEPT STUDENT VOLUNTEERS AGE 14 AND UP WITH PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION. IF YOU ARE BETWEEN 14-17 A PARENT MUST SIGN A RELEASE OF LIABILITY

About Friends of Heirloom Flowers Garden Club of Fremont CA

Location:

Mission Statement

Friends of Heirloom Flowers is a volunteer gardening group that partners with the City of Fremont to maintain one of Fremont's historical parks. We have work parties every Tuesday at Shinn Park & Arboretum, 1251 Peralta Blvd., 10:00 to noon, then a social tea and coffee.

We introduce heirloom flowers into the gardens and maintain the integrity of the plants already there. We work as a flexible team, share ideas, preserve history, and enjoy the outdoors while making new friends.

Our quarterly membership meetings include speakers in gardening-related fields, and we take field trips to various gardens or related places of interest.

Description

We encourage all levels of gardeners to come help us maintain Shinn Park & Arboretum - seasoned gardeners to novices. We also welcome members whose schedules allow them to join us one or two Tuesdays a month. Just bring pruning shears, gloves, and a willingness to work.

We also encourage students to earn their extra credit and community service hours in our gardens; they just need to be mentored by one of our members.

ALL are welcome.
