Since 2015, we have taken hundreds of outgrown or discarded bicycles, cleaned them up, repaired them and given them to people who need them -- for free! Our community has been generous, and we have way more bikes to fix than people available to fix them. Want to help get spokes to folks? Come to Bike-Fix-It Day! You don't have to be an expert mechanic -- you don't even need tools. Just come with a willing heart! We hold this program monthly and next month's date will be chosen at this next Bike-Fix-It Day.

Mission Statement
From Brecksville United Methodist Church We strive to live by these words, spoken by John Wesley: "Whoever you are; in whatever faith you were born, whatever creed you profess, if you come to this house to find God, you are welcome." At Brecksville United Methodist Church, our doors are open to everyone. We are constantly growing and learning how we can be more welcoming to those in the community, both nearby and further afield. Whatever your age, race, background, vocation, orientation or belief system, we invite you to come and experience God’s grace with us.
Description
We are an open and affirming congregation and welcome everyone to come and learn as a family. We strive to learn and live by the lessons of Jesus, to love and serve our neighbors. The ministry in which we are seeking volunteers is our bike ministry. The bike ministry began in 2015, we hoped to collect a few old bikes, fix them and get them out in the community to people in need of reliable transportation or to children who could enjoy the fun and freedom a bicycle offers. We set our goal at 25 bikes. To date we have put over 400 bikes out into local communities and continue to carry out that initial goal. As people learn about the ministry they generously offer their old bikes, but we are in need of mechanical folks who are looking for a volunteer opportunity to put their gifts and skills into action. Times are incredibly flexible, the church is open from 8 am to 10 pm Sunday through Friday (and on some Saturdays), you can work on the stage area whenever you have time to do so.
