Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Nourishing Hope! We are a partnership with La Casa Norte located at 3533 W. North Ave, Chicago, IL.
At El Mercadito, we serve clients in the Humboldt Park community to provide access to a full distribution of fresh groceries, mental health counseling and social services.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to distribute groceries to clients, stock shelves, unload deliveries, and greet and receive clients. We're well suited for groups of 5-10 people and can accommodate families with youth at least 13 years or older. This is an incredible opportunity for those looking to serve Chicago and provide food to your neighbors in need.
Our Volunteer Opportunities occur:
Monday, Wednesay, and Friday 9am - 12:30pm (Set Up) and 11:30am - 3:30pm (Food Distribution)
To get involved, reach out to us at volunteers@nourishinghopechi.org or head straight to our registration page nourishinghopechi.org/volunteer/register-to-be-a-volunteer/. Once your registration is submitted, you will receive an automated email with next steps.
We look forward to having you soon!

Mission Statement
Nourishing Hope (formerly Lakeview Pantry) strives to eliminate hunger in our community by: Providing food to fill the basic need of hungry people, increasing the independence of our clients through self-help initiatives and other innovative programs, and raising awareness of poverty and its solution.
Description
Nourishing Hope (formerly Lakeview Pantry) is a dynamic social services organization providing food, mental wellness counseling, and other social services, such as job and housing assistance, to our Chicago neighbors in need. While our doors are open to all, the vast majority of those we serve within our neighborhood may be disabled, working for minimum wage, recently unemployed, or the elderly. Whatever the reason, we are here to help. Founded in 1970, we strive to serve the needs of the whole person-with respect and dignity, always.
