Do you enjoy making crafts?Do you want to volunteer from the comfort of your own home? Turn your hobby into healing by becoming a craft volunteer for hospice! Ascend Hospice needs more talented craft volunteers to donate items that will bring comfort to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. The sky's the limit when it comes to what you can donate, but some suggestions include: crocheted or fleece lap blankets/shawls/slippers, full-size or decorative pillows, veterans-appreciation or patriotic items, stuffed animals (teddy bears), seasonal gifts or any other craft item that will brighten a patient's room.
Items can be dropped off at Ascend's business offices in Overland Park or a pick up can be arranged. This is your chance to make a BIG difference without even leaving your doorstep! Please contact us if you're interested in donating handmade gifts of comfort to our hospice patients. We're waiting to hear from you!
Ascend Hospice provides exceptional end-of-life services to patients and their families throughout 6 counties: Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Miami, Douglas, and Franklin.

Ascend Hospice, formerly Care Alternatives, is committed to providing extremely exceptional care and services with integrity and compassion. Founded in 1995, Ascend Hospice is a nondenominational, multicultural hospice and palliative care provider built on the belief that hospice services should reflect the life we live - one lived fully and with dignity. With offices in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri, California and Virginia, the company currently provides care for approximately 850 patients in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, hospitals and private homes. Dedicated to a holistic approach, Ascend Hospice’s expert interdisciplinary teams provide state-of-the art hospice care, including pain control and symptom management through holistic and traditional therapies, as well as emotional support for patients and families.
