Are you a good listener? Are you caring? Do you want to help the LGBT community nationwide? The LGBT National Help Center runs 4 national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline (All Ages), the LGBT National Coming Out Support Hotline (All Ages), the LGBT National Youth Talkline (ages 25 and younger) and the LGBT National Senior Hotline (Ages 50 and above) along with an all ages one-to-one online peer support chat.
We provide peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexuality and/or gender identity. Our volunteers provides one-to-one peer support that help both youth and adults with coming-out issues, gender and/or sexuality concerns/questions, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and much more.
We are looking for LGBTQIA+ volunteers ages 18 and over.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) National Hotline is a program of the LGBT National Help Center. We are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing peer-support, information, and local resources directly through our toll-free telephone numbers and online services. Our mission is to help end the isolation and fear that many people who question their sexuality and/or gender identity go through.
We offer peer support volunteer opportunities both locally in our San Francisco office and now remote volunteering anywhere in the country as long as a volunteer has stable internet access and a quiet and isolated location to take calls.
While we have available shifts throughout the week, high priority will go to those available to train during the week 1- 3 pm pacific or 3 - 5 pm pacific. (training is once a week, you do not need to be available every day during this time. Also this time does not to be your permanent shift, only when you are available to train)

REQUIREMENTS
- 3 hour shifts a week for at least 12months once training is complete.
- Must be 18 years old or over and identify as LGBTQIA+ . Remote volunteers need to have a secure and quiet place to work as calls are confidential. System requirements: computer with stable internet.
