A major goal for the ASPCA in Los Angeles is to help Los Angeles County Shelters adopt their cats into loving homes. We are expanding into multiple Petco locations to serve as adoption spaces for ASPCA foster kittens and Los Angeles County shelter cats. We need volunteers who can commit to at least one shift per week to care for the adoptable cats at these locations.
Volunteers must be over 18 years old or be accompanied by a guardian at volunteer shifts. Volunteer duties will include feeding, cleaning the litter box, providing interaction and cuddles with the cats, helping with adoptions and making sure the cats remain healthy and happy in their space while they wait for their new family. If you are interested in volunteering at one of the following Petco locations, please contact ASPCA Placement & Logistics Sr. Manager, Ariel Collins, at ariel.collins@aspca.org. Shifts are available 7 days a week in the mornings or evenings.

Mission Statement
The mission of the ASPCA, as stated by Henry Bergh in 1866, is "to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States."
Description
Founded in 1866, the ASPCA was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. Our mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh, is "to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States." While there are SPCAs and humane societies all over the country, the ASPCA is not directly affiliated with them. However, the ASPCA works nationally to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with many shelters across the country.
