Looking for some volunteers for 3 hours on Thursdays

ORGANIZATION: FRIENDS OF WEST FLORIDA PUBLIC LIBRARY INC

We are looking for people to help sort books at our Friends of West Fl Public Library warehouse. We need people who would be strong enough to carry a box of books if possible. We work every Thursday from 9am until noon (unless it's a holiday) at 325 Commerce Street, 32507. Right behind Greer's CashSaver on Barrancas. For your volunteer time you get 2 free books each time you work. If you have any questions please send an email to: blue8392@cox.net You do not have to make a commitment to every Thursday but we would appreciate any Thursday you could come in to help. Our proceeds go to benefit our library system. Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity.

We also need volunteers to work a 2.5 hour shift at both our Tryon library bookstore as well as our downtown library bookstore. If any of these volunteer opportunities sound good to you please reach out to the email above.

The mission of the Friends of WFPL is to advocate for literacy and learning by expanding and fostering the availability of resources for the West Florida Public Library and other community initiatives.

Description

The Friends of WFPL is a non-profit 501(c)(3). The organization was founded in 1973, and is made up of volunteers whose primary purpose is to support the mission of the West Florida Public Library System and to help enhance its services to the community. Over the past 50 years, the Friends have raised more than $2 million to build new library locations and support children’s summer reading programs, adult learning and many other activities and events that create a stronger community.
