Hospice Volunteering is about CARING! Volunteers provide a variety of resources for the patient and/or family, including brief respite for the caregiver, friendly visits to chat, read or write for a patient, perhaps light housecleaning chores, playing games,shopping, etc. All training is provided free to volunteers in return for their dedication to serve our patients - no previous healthcare related skills are necessary.Flexible training and scheduling is available to meet the needs of both the volunteer who is employed or retired. Volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years of age and willing to serve our program for one year. Bring your talents to volunteer with hospice and be prepared for a most fulfilling experience!

Description

Adventist Health Hospice is dedicated to providing comfortable palliative care while preserving dignity, respecting patients' choices and autonomy, and working closely together with families and friends. Hospice volunteers come alongside this goal to provide comfort and care to patients and families to make the most of the time remaining for them. Volunteers can offer companionship, help with light household tasks, make phone calls, document patients' life stories, help with pet care or offer musical talents.
