AccentCare Hospice is currently seeking Volunteers to sit bedside with our patients who do not have family or friends during their final hours. This Volunteer opportunity takes place in Assisted Living Centers, Memory Cares, or Nursing Homes. A Vigil Volunteer is an essential part of our NODA (No-one dies alone) program.
Volunteers will have a flexible schedule.
Typical Vigil visits are 2-4 hours (depending on availability). Vigil volunteers are encouraged to bring a book or quiet activity along on the visit. You will receive training for this special kind of Volunteering. Vigil Volunteers can take on this opportunity after you have Volunteered for 6 months.
