Try something new in 2025. No special skills required; just share your heart and enrich your life.
Visit with Samaritan's patients and families in their homes or in long-term care facilities in your local communities. Provide a comforting presence, companionship, read, play cards and games, share stories, share military experiences, act as a friend or neighbor. Veterans needed to visit fellow Veterans.
Volunteers visit once a week for 2-4 hours and do not provide any hands-on care. Must be at least 18 years old. No experience or healthcare background needed. Complimentary training is provided.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum Age: 18
- One-year commitment
- Volunteer Orientation and Training
- Some medical Medical requirements including COVID Vaccination and one booster (or physician-signed medical declination)
- Ongoing: Monthly Documentation, Annual Education
We ask that all volunteers bring the following qualities to their work at Samaritan: good communication and listening skills, a nonjudgmental attitude, reliability, flexibility, and compassion.
