Make a difference in the lives of DC children experiencing homelessness! Play Ranger Volunteers spend one evening a week playing with children at a family homeless shelter, making a direct impact on a young person's life. The vast majority of children we serve are African American, and so we strongly encourage people of color to volunteer. We need YOU today!

The Homeless Children's Playtime Project provides trauma-informed play programs for youth ages 6 months - 18 years old in five family shelters and transitional housing sites across Washington, DC. Play Ranger Volunteers serve at one of our sites, one night a week for two hours, for a minimum of 6 months.

Help us start our new programs at some of the shelters on New York Avenue. We need you now, more than ever!

To become a volunteer: attend an info session, complete our short application, and complete a Play Ranger Orientation. The next info session is Tuesday, September 18, from 6:30-8:30 PM at 1525 Newton St. NW. To RSVP, click here!
