Fall Semester Special Event Intern
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities:
Assist in special event coordination, maintain special event and volunteer database.
- Assist with task calendars, budgets and timelines.
- Use social media to promote events.
- Attend designated events, and assist staff as necessary (1 event per month).
- Prepare materials, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc. as needed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Strong writing, editing and proof reading skills
- Participate in continuing education to keep abreast of professional, business, and educational developments applicable to position.
- Ability to work well independently as well as with a team, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- A tech savvy approach and willingness to learn (Microsoft Word, Excel Twitter and Instagram)
- Strong customer service orientation, organizational and prioritizing skills, problem solving ability and attention to detail.
Daily Hours, Months of Internship and Compensation
Hours are flexible and most of the event planning can be done remotely prior to events. 15-20 hours per month
- Fall Events: Senior Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Toy Giveaway; we may add one more event. Events are held in the evenings or weekends (day time hours).
- Location: New Orleans
- Months of Internship: September-December 2024
- Compensation: College Credit or Stipend at completion of Internship
- College Junior or Senior

High Voltage Youth Camp is a non-profit organization that provides educational as well as recreational programs for economically disadvantaged youth, ages 14-19, to realize their potential, build character, and to function effectively as contributing members of society. We are also dedicated to building community collaborations and partnerships with other organizations that serve youth. High Voltage also partners with nonprofit agencies to serve senior citizens.
Description
High Voltage provides educational as well as recreational programs for economically disadvantaged youth living in the Metro New Orleans area. Our programs are provided free of charge and offers high school credits.
