NAMI is known as the "biggest secret" in the world of mental health.

With more than fifty-thousand supporters nationwide, NAMI isn’t just another nonprofit.

NAMI is a MOVEMENT.

And as our movement grows, we’re on the lookout for passionate individuals who want to join us as we end the stigma of mental illness and save thousands of lives.

Does this sound like you? If so, read on, because we’re looking for an experienced Program Manager to help support our established and successful Spanish Families Program.

About NAMI’s Spanish Families Program

NAMI’s Spanish Families Program is a free, 12-session educational program for Spanish speaking families, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. Research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual living with a mental health condition.

Bringing this program to life is impossible without the support of our Spanish Families Program Manager.

That’s where you come in.

As the Spanish Families Program Manager,

You will...

  • Maintain an active list of teachers, classes offered and class records.
  • Coordinate with Participant Outreach Coordinator for the purpose of generating and filling classes.
  • Create and maintain a list of training candidates, assist in filling out applications and process training applicants.
  • Identify training opportunities, set up training dates, and coordinate affiliate’s Spanish Family Program trainings.

  • Role-specific training and tools to help you succeed in your role, along with guidance from the current successful and experienced Youth Programs Chair
  • Paired up with a Relationship Manager whose sole responsibility is to be sure your volunteer experience is enjoyable
  • Support and recognition for your achievements and contributions
  • To volunteer alongside awesome people, make new connections, and add your rewarding volunteer experience to your resume/portfolio for career advancement

You have...

  • A personal connection with mental health either through family, friends or personal ties
  • Enthusiasm for helping young people, their families, teachers and faculty around mental health-related issues
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills
  • Polished professionalism
  • Reliable transportation
  • A goals-oriented, leadership mindset, you enjoy sharing knowledge with others and advocating for important causes
  • The ability to think critically about how to solve self-identified problems and execute solutions with approval
  • The ability to perform and take initiative with minimal direction; you're a self-starter

Started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979, NAMI has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health.
