Help a neighbor in your community this winter!
Clients throughout Waukesha County are looking for help!
Volunteers are needed beginning with the first snowfall until spring. Volunteers will be matched with a senior or adult with a disability in their community to remove snow from their driveway and sidewalk.
Details can be coordinated directly with the person you serve. Enjoy the crisp winter weather as you provide this needed service to an individual that is no longer able to shovel snow due to age or physical condition.
Qualifications: Dependable, responsible, and have a positive attitude. Must be 15 or older (children younger accompanied by an adult).
*You can team up with a few people for this project and alternate throughout the season.
COVID Volunteer Safety and Health Policy
During this snow removal volunteer opportunity, volunteers are asked to follow CDC guidelines to help reduce the spread of illness. If groups are looking to volunteer together, we recommend that members rotate each time work is needed to be done. If more than one person needs to be there at one time, please limit groups to no more than four people, or one family living in the same household. Volunteers are required to wear a mask while serving, per the Wisconsin statewide mask mandate. Eras Senior Network is happy to provide face masks and hand sanitizer to volunteers. While volunteering, we ask that volunteers maintain a minimum of six feet of distance from each other. Volunteers are not to make any physical contact with the client, but are encouraged to call them on the phone if they need to communicate. We request that all volunteers refrain from serving if they exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms including cough, difficulty breathing, fever, loss of taste or smell, and upset stomach, or have been in close contact with someone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the last 14 days. Volunteers should also refrain from serving if they have had a fever over 100.4 within the last 72 hours.
