These positions requires volunteers to see patients at thier home or care facility.

Description: Patient Companion Volunteers provide companionship and emotional support to patients receiving hospice care, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. They engage in meaningful conversations, share activities, and offer comfort to enhance the patient's quality of life.

Responsibilities:

· Visit patients in their homes or care facilities on a regular schedule.

· Engage in conversations, listen actively, and provide emotional support.

· Assist with light activities, such as reading, playing games, or watching movies together.

· Offer respite care to family members, allowing them time to rest or attend appointments.

· Report any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to hospice staff.

Qualifications:

· Compassionate and empathetic nature.

· Good communication and listening skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.

Patient/Family Services Volunteer

• Provide various forms of assistance to patients such as comfort measures and supportive services to include reading to and writing for patient, sitting at bedside, and caregiver relief for families.
• This opportunity requires the volunteer to go to a patients home or home care facility to provide services. Volunteers may choose an area of preference and we will try our best to match a patient in that area or surrounding area.
• We are also looking for anyone who would like to volunteer their time in extracurricular activities like knitting or any type of craft and baking for us to hand out to patients/ families.
