Volunteers needed! We are looking for people that would like to be the positive change in the world. Compassus Hospice is seeking compassionate people to visit with hospice patients in assisted living communities and nursing homes in Southern Maine.
As a hospice volunteer, your role may be as simple as reading a book or newspaper, listening to music, attending an activity, taking a walk, playing cards or holding a hand. Also if you have a special talent or profession ie: Massage Therapist, Pet Therapy, Hairdresser, or Manicurist, we would love to have you join our team. The heart of volunteering in hospice is simply enjoying each others company; time both you & your patient will find rewarding, and their family will greatly appreciate.
Detailed training will be provided at no cost. Training includes classroom time and take home studying. Volunteer placement and time is planned for your convenience!
