This program assists our neighbors with their ability to age in place, continue to remain in their home, and combat the loneliness of being home-bound. Clients can be senior or disabled members of the community and often have limited contact with people outside their home.
Volunteers call clients on a schedule - predetermined by the client - to provide a wellness check, chat and perhaps remind the client to take medications. This provides peace of mind to both the client and their families.
What qualifications and skills are required? You must simply have a desire to help others, be open to talking with others, and be at least 55 years of age!
For more information call, 973-784-4900 ext. 2909 or 2905.
