Mission Statement
The mission of the Crohn’s and Colitis Connect Mentoring Program is for mentors to empower youth to live well with IBD.
Description
The Crohn's and Colitis Connect Mentoring Program was developed from empirical research on mentoring programs, best practices that have been developed from this research, resources from Big Brothers Big Sisters and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, and focus groups conducted with youth with IBD, their parents, and young adults with IBD. The program is funded by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
You Can Make a Difference! Be an IBD Mentor. If you have IBD, are 16 or older and enjoy working with boys or girls ages 10 to 17, you may qualify to be a mentor as part of a Mentoring Research Study. Time spent with the mentee is individually and in group mentoring settings both in person and virtually. All participants will go through a screening process that has both in person and virtual components.
