The volunteer opportunity is modified according to the background and interest of applicant. Tasks may include research on vegetarian restaurants, other research, clerical work, and/or community outreach. Professional skills of lawyers, dietitians, physicians, food technologists, fundraisers, IT, and others also needed. Students can obtain experience related to writing, nutrition, the business aspects of a non-profit, marketing, mail order, and publishing books and magazines. Projects involving the use of Spanish also available. Applicant should have an interest in vegetarian and vegan diets. Volunteers who know HTML are helpful. Mission Statement

For 40 years The Vegetarian Resource Group has made it easier to be vegetarian and vegan by working with health professionals, educators, students, food services, media, and consumers.

Description

VRG offers two five thousand and one ten thousand college scholarships for high school students who have promoted vegetarianism. Available are speaker referral, poll and ingredient information, list of vegetarian friendly restaurants, vegan recipes and information at www.vrg.org, and much more. Nutrition information is scientifically documented and reviewed by registered dietitians.

Publications include Vegetarian Journal; books such as Meatless Meals for Working People and Simply Vegan; and brochures like Vegan Diets in a Nutshell, Vegetarian Nutrition for Teenagers, Una Dieta Vegetariana, and I Love Animals and Broccoli Coloring Book.
