Join us for our 5th Annual Evening of Wishes! This year, in celebration of our 35th anniversary we will be hosting our annual Evening of Wishes gala on April 7, 2018 in the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. In the 35 years since granting our first wish here at Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, we’ve granted over 9,500 wishes and helped in transforming their lives. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in working events, are 21 or older and willing to help. We have multiple shifts available on the day of the event, including set-up, event support, and clean-up.

Mission Statement
Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic is a non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation serves children who reside in Maryland, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William Counties as well as city of Alexandria), and Delaware.
Description
Founded in 1983, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic has fulfilled the wishes of more than 4,500 children fighting illnesses such as Cancer, Pediatric AIDS, Cystic Fibrosis, Duchene's Muscular Dystrophy and heart disease. A wish fulfilled creates a memorable experience for a child fighting a life-threatening medical condition and gives him or her something positive to think about instead of medical treatments and hospital visits. Recent wishes include visiting Walt Disney World Resort, taking a family vacation to Australia, receiving a home computer and having a bedroom redecorated. Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic is affiliated with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
