INTRO: Would you like to help on an organic farm in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle? Are you interested in sustainability and organic food? Then our sustainable farming project is ideal for you!
DETAILS: As a volunteer on the project, you will learn about the organic farming processes the farm uses, and help with planting, maintaining and harvesting crops. You’ll also closely work with the farm’s horses, and be able to ride them frequently. The farm also has other animals: cows and pigs. You’ll learn how to prepare healthy meals with produce from the farm. You will also learn how to make cacao and cheese from scratch! The "host mum" Teresa is a specialist in medicinal plant medicine - and she has a garden full of important plants. If you’re interested and speak a little Spanish you can learn a lot from her about the medicinal plants and their uses.

Green Life Volunteers is a local Costa Rican Volunteer Service Organization. We place volunteers in different projects throughout Costa Rica. Most of these projects are run by other non-profit organizations - and we provide them with "man-power", know-how, and donations. We particularly try to focus on conservation and development projects - and we place volunteers on projects which focus on research and protection of endangered species, such as sea turtles and monkeys! We also hope to improve sustainability and positive development in small communities of Costa Rica, by helping kids and adults to learn English (and other languages), and by promoting organic farming and reforestation!
