Share your talent and perform for an appreciative audience. Share your talent on guitar, piano, etc. Have a penchant for poetry or watercolor? What do you love to do that you'd like to share? Want to volunteer but only have a few hours every month or so?
Old Friends Club is a daytime social club for people with dementia come together in a social environment to stay engaged, have coffee and lunch, and enjoy the arts and some physical activity (while their family caregivers take some time for themselves.)
Most of our Members deal with mild to moderate Alzheimer's or other cognitive challenges. We laugh and learn and enjoy the stories that bubble up. Life is better shared. We welcome volunteers who want to join us occasionally and add variety and richness to the day with:
- a musical talent
- a sing-along
- a therapy pet
- gardening? woodworking? poetry? storytelling? juggling? origami?
- What would you like to share?
Old Friends Club meets in Sammamish on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Your visit for an hour or so to share an interest or talent makes a big difference. Visit just once or schedule time to return every month or two. We also have another location in Carnation!
Help us create a welcoming environment of fun, respect and joy!

About Old Friends Club
Location:
PO Box 2472, Kirkland, WA 98083, US
Mission Statement
Old Friends Club cultivates joy in the lives of adults with cognitive impairment and nourishes the well-being of family caregivers.
Description
Old Friends Club invites people with dementia or other cognitive impairments to participate in guided conversation, games, art, music, exercise and other activities. We meet in a small group that empowers each member to build friendships and care for one another. The activity and interaction help people remain living in their own home longer and address social and cognitive needs that other care options often don’t. Club members move from isolation to engagement. Their family caregivers gain respite and ongoing support, education and access to caregiving resources.
