As a non-profit organization we rely heavily on donations from the public, both private and business, to enable us to help as many animals in the community as possible. We don't have a physical shelter so all animals are in volunteers foster homes or with owners who can hold them while we search for new furever homes for them. As a volunteer foster home, SCC covers all medical and food for the animals while the fosters provide shelter, transportation to adoption events, and above all LOVE and attention! However, even though we get some things and foods donated, and a small part of the cost to make sure each animal is basically healthy and ready for a new home, the costs can get overwhelming! Without a relatively steady income of donations thru adoptions, goodwill donations, and especially fundraisers - SCC would cease to exist...quickly! Fundraisers are the backbone of any non-profit organization!! We have a good base of dedicated volunteers but we need someone with good organization skills, contacts, and the time and drive to get things rolling and keep it going!
