Peninsula Food Runners: Help feed those in need!
Peninsula Food Runners seeks volunteers to help reduce hunger and food waste in our community. We transport perishable and prepared food from food donors to local non profits that feed the hungry.
Here is an example: Lots of high tech companies in the area feed their employees, but have excess food after the meals are served. We partner with these companies and use our volunteers to transport the food to local non-profits that serve the food to their (hungry) clients. That could be poor senior citizens, foster youth, homeless shelters, Boys and Girls Clubs, drug recovery programs, etc.
Our food runs take about 90 minutes and we ask our volunteers to try to do one food run a week, or two a month.
Check out our video on our website explaining what we do: www.peninsulafoodrunners.org

We have a very efficient system and our volunteers enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference in their community. We serve San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
We perform 30-35 food runs a day but have enough surplus food to feed many more. We just need the drivers to get the food from the donor to the non-profit.
Volunteers use their own automobiles.
Let's keep this food OUT of landfills and get it into bodies!
Come join us!
