Do you have strong basic math skills, or enjoy reading? Do want to help a young person succeed? Are you answering the call to give back to the Community? STARS may be the opportunity your looking for. Tutors are needed to work with motivated Job Corps students on a one to one basis assisting students in academics subjects including Math, Literacy, English, and GED prep. We are also looking for tutors for College Prep, SAT and ASVAB prep. By tutoring a young person, you are helping them to realize their potential. Students have seen the success of this program and are recommending it to their friends. As a result we have a waiting list of students that are seeking the help of a tutor. Do you have an 1 1/2 hrs a week to help these students reach their potential. Tutoring is on Monday and/or Thursday from 3:45 to 5:15. Tutors may volunteer one or both days and will receive training to prepare them to be effective and successful tutors. What better way to give back than to help a young person succeed at their goals to strengthen their education and develop the necessary skills to succeed in life.
