Chicagoland Animal Rescue, NFP is a small, all-volunteer cat rescue organization based out of the Downers Grove PetSmart at Butterfield & Finley Rd.
**We are looking to add people for several different shifts, including weekday mornings and weekend options.**
Even if we can't use you right now, we'd love to have you come meet us and learn about volunteering! Options for volunteering can open unexpectedly, so please reach out if you are interested in volunteering.
Our ONLY location is at the Downers Grove PetSmart, 1550 Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove IL. This is the only location where volunteering of this type will take place. If you cannot come out to this location, we hope you will find an organization near your home that you can volunteer with instead.
Please know that as a small organization, our volunteer slots can fill up quickly, so please still reach out if you are interested to see where we might use you!
C.A.R. is looking for volunteers (21 years old or older, please) to be placed on a set schedule to help during the day, in the evenings, on weekends. Schedules are flexible, but are typically on a set rotating schedule. Duties will include scooping liter boxes, cleaning the adoption area, monitoring & noting cat behavior, socializing the cats in our care, and medicating cats when necessary. Even if you can only volunteer a few hours every couple weeks or once a month, we would love to have you! Please email us at info@chicagolandanimalrescue.org or fill out the form on our website here to get more information on shifts we’re looking to fill and to complete a volunteer application. NOTE: We are NOT able to accommodate those who need a specific number of volunteer hours (such as court-ordered community service or to fulfill school obligations) with this opportunity. Please check out our virtual options if that is something you need fulfilled.
We are almost always looking for volunteers, even if your commitment can only be a few hours a month, but you need to be able to commit to a schedule and keep it indefinitely. Volunteers must also be at least 21 years old. Thank you!
Please provide a current email and phone number for us to contact you at if you are willing to lend a hand and to find out more information. We also would appreciate volunteers to occasionally help with vet transport, volunteer transport, and other tasks as they come up. Spending time with these precious cats is one of the most gracious things you could do! If you are unable to volunteer, please consider making a donation to help support cats in need. Thank you for your time!

Mission Statement
We are an all-volunteer foster home rescue. We rescue abandoned, homeless, and unwanted cats from DuPage County Animal Services.
Description
We seek out the cats that need a 'second chance,' often due to no fault of their own. We strive to do the best possible adoptions for both the prospective person/family as well as the cat, and will help you make the best possible decision for your situation. We understand that the adoption process is a thoughtful one, and encourage you to take your time to find your best feline friend.
Our cats are examined by a veterinarian, blood tested, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and parasite tested/treated. Adopters are provided with medical records, a rabies certificate, and information to help introduce the cat to their home. We also provide information about the cat that we have learned through foster and daily interaction by our volunteers.
