AccentCare Hospice & Palliative Care of Sacramento is committed to our mission of Reimagining care to transform health care to our patients and their families at all stages of the end of life.
Some of our patients are spending the final weeks, days and hours of their lives alone, without family and friends nearby. Although they become part of the AccentCare Hospice family, these individuals would benefit from your companionship and supportive presence at the end of their lives. Vigil Volunteers are trained to support patients in their final hours by holding their hand, providing reassurance, placing a cool washcloth on their forehead, creating a peaceful environment through music and aromatherapy, and offering support throughout their transition.
You will receive full hospice volunteer training and specialized Vigil Volunteer training. All volunteers with AccentCare Hospice complete a basic physical and background check, paid for by AccentCare.
If this sounds like a meaningful opportunity to you, please contact our Manager of Volunteer Services, Makaela Franklin at makaelafranklin@accentcare.com to learn more.
