Interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising and strategic development? This internship is right for you! There will be opportunities to hone your financial analysis skills.

Job Requirements

o Previous budgeting experience desired but not required.

o Previous bookkeeping experience desired but not required.

Job Duties

o Basic bookkeeping. No previous experience required! Gain experience here!

o Basic financial analysis, research and budgeting. No previous experience required.

Internship Time Period

Internship (1 year) - 5 hrs/week. 240 hours. Learn the basics of non-profit donations accounting and expense bookkeeping. Use basic spreadsheets and advanced softwares such as Quickbooks.
Internship (Summer 2 months) - 30 hrs/week. 240 hours. Same as 6 months, but full time instead of part time.

Interns are expected to develop ownership of their projects and encouraged to develop creative solutions. Independent thinking is strongly encouraged. Intern must have a strong passion for and dedication to our mission and goals. Interns will receive relevant training, fieldwork experience as well as guaranteed references for successfully completing their internship term. This internship is unpaid but interns may apply for credit or funding through their college or university. Successful interns, at the end of their tenure, may be considered for any paid positions that are available.

In-person position at our Berkeley, California office.

Interns work at our office in Berkeley, California, USA. In-person positions assume the applicant has US citizenship, permanent residency status, or a valid US VISA, and can self-sustain their stay throughout the internship or apprenticeship period, including food, lodging, and transport.

The 1947 Partition Archive is a non-profit non-governmental organization dedicated to institutionalizing the people's history of Partition.

Description

The Partition of British India in 1947 was a major 20th century event that affected millions of lives and played a key role in shaping the world in which we live today, both culturally and geopolitically. Nearly two million lost their lives and 15 million people were displaced, making it the largest mass migration. The 1947 Partition Archive is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the fast disappearing memory of Partition by capturing and preserving the people's history through crowd-sourced oral history collection.
