Looking for Long-Term Volunteer (minimum 9 months commitment)
to Support Arts Administration at Montalvo Artist Residency Program

10 hours/week, (minimum twice a week, flexible schedule, no weekends)
at the Lucas Artists Residency Program offices in Saratoga, California
in the beautiful 175-acre Montalvo Arts Center’s public park

PARAMETERS OF VOLUNTEER POSITION

Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California is seeking a long-term volunteer to support the administration of its Artists Residency Program (The Lucas Artists Residency Program - LAP). We are looking for someone who has great organizational skills that they would like to share to benefit the community and the 100+ national and international artists who are in residence at Montalvo each year. Our offices are a tranquil, stimulating and creative space set among 176 acres of hiking trails, across from a creek among redwood and Bay trees. Above us is the 2-acre former orchard site that now boasts the 10 architect-designed studios that house visual artists, writers, media artists, musicians and composers from around the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for someone who lives locally and is able to become part of the ongoing volunteer family who support this program-someone who can contribute to our team and take on ongoing responsibility for key administrative tasks required to support our talented artists who have been awarded residencies, and guest artists who come to Montalvo to create art on the grounds or to perform at our public festivals.

The position requires a flexible and adaptable attitude, willingness to respond to the needs of a busy office environment, a sense of humor and fun, and the ability to work independently. Accounting skills and/or experience with supporting events is a plus.
