Development Intern Grant Writer

As the Grant Writer, you will be responsible for supporting the Grants Manager in researching foundation prospects and drafting grant proposals.

About Us

Since 1996, Gift of Adoption has been awarding grants to complete the adoptions of children in vulnerable circumstances-giving them permanent families and a chance to thrive.

Priority is placed on helping children facing what is possibly their only chance at adoption, including children at-risk of separation from siblings, entering foster care, aging-out of an orphanage or with critical medical conditions. We’re the largest provider of adoption assistance grants on a nondiscriminatory basis and our grants are paid directly to the adoption providers working on the child’s behalf.

The domestic adoptions we support are completed following U.S. State and Federal laws regulating adoption and the children we serve are being adopted by a relative or by a parent who has been identified by the birth family and/or professionals as in the best interest of the child.

The intercountry adoptions we support are completed following the principles set forth in the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children. This means intercountry adoption has been determined to be in the best interest of the child because no relative is able and permanency with a family in the child’s country of origin has not been possible.

About Gift of Adoption Fund

Location:

1200 Shermer Road, Suite 111, Northbrook, IL 60062, US

Mission Statement

Gift of Adoption is a national charitable organization that inspires adoption by providing grants to help fund adoptions-- giving children permanent, loving families and the chance to thrive.

Description

We believe a child without a family is one of life's great tragedies because a child without a permanent home suffers. Orphanages and foster homes do not offer permanent solutions for the millions of children who need families. All children deserve the dignity and love that comes from being a part of a family. Gift of Adoption is committed to creating those families. Gift of Adoption is a national charitable organization that inspires adoption by providing grants to help fund adoptions-- giving children permanent, loving families and the chance to thrive.

Through Gift of Adoption, you can give time and donations to support adoption.

Even if you can't open your home, you can open your heart and transform the life of a child.
