We have two offices in the North and South of Houston, but our patients are located all over the Houston area. If you are volunteering for the southwest your patient will be located in the Rosenberg, Sugarland, Missouri, Richmond area ect.
Every act of kindness or service is of absolute, equal importance. Every patient want or need is a treasure revealed...
Do you enjoy visiting with people and being of help to others? Join our Patient Care Volunteer Team! Patient Care Volunteers offer kindness, attention and thoughtful support to our hospice patients and their families at a time when it means the most.
Patient Care Volunteers visit patients and/or hospice family members in southwest Houston one hour a week to provide a caring presence, ease loneliness and provide help with projects or enjoyable activities. Activities can range from sharing a cup of coffee while reading the newspaper or maybe The Bible out loud to your patient, to doing art at the bedside, to providing a quiet presence during a tender time, to working on a life review project, to sharing a creative activity, to doing special things your patient is not able to enjoy without some extra help.
Volunteers mean so much to our patients and families! Training and great support from the hospice staff will be provided! Visit our website at www.goodshepherdhospice.com, or contact Heather Hanagriff at 713-664-4447 or heather.hanagriff@goodshepherdhospice.com for more information.

Description
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
Our History - 21 Years of Comforting and Serving
Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
