The Accounting and Finance Volunteer/Intern will work closely with the Manager of Accounting Services and the Chief Operating Officer.

This opportunity will provide practical educational and work experience for the student. This opportunity is for resume experience, and is unpaid. The agency is willing to work with your educational institution to determine if we meet eligbility and compliance requirements for college credit.

Tasks:

  • Help conceptualize assorted finance and accounting procedures that affect the agency.
  • Work with Manager/COO on research opportunities and staff education on accouting practices and guidelines
  • Assist with deposits
  • Filing
  • Copying
  • Process chartible gifts/donations for approval
  • Assist in preparing budgets for grant/bid proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of finance and accounting.

Time Commitment:

  • 4-30 hrs weekly.
  • Days negotiable depending on schedule

Employment Connection, was founded in 1977 to decrease recidivism among ex-offenders in the St. Louis region through work readiness and job placement services, extensive supportive services and literacy offerings.

Since that time it's efforts have expanded to help welfare recipients, high-school & college dropouts, ex-substance abusers, veterans survivors of domestic violence and
New Americans. Employment Connection specializes in helping the "hard to employ" become self-sufficient and productive.

This is an agency that believes in dignity, self empowerment, second chances and the potential for success inherent in everyone.

Employment Connection makes about 1,700 job placements a year. The agency has helped over 30,000 peopel find
work since it opened its doors.
