The Cathedral Center is a shelter for homeless women and families facing an emergency housing crisis. We are home to 28 women and 8 families for up to 90 days while they work with our case managers to achieve a personal action plan.
Volunteers help us keep things running smoothly and provide the comforts of home through our Hospitality Program!
Groups of 5-8 people sign up to provide a meal which they purchase, prepare, and serve to our clients on a monthly or semi-monthly basis. Through this program we are able to provide a meal 365 days a year! Our Hospitality Program is great for parish groups, clubs and organizations, corporate groups, and friends and families who want to serve a home cooked meal with a friendly face.
Groups are needed 7 days a week between 6:00-8:00pm. Groups must be comfortable interacting with homeless adults with mental illness and addictions, as well as, children ranging from infant-18 years old. All volunteers must complete and pass a background check before volunteering. Volunteers will be required to choose between wearing a mask while serving or taking a COVID test upon arrival.
If you are interested in learning more or signing up contact Rachel Zelinski, Volunteer Coordinator at 414-831-0394 Ext 2133 or rzelinski@cathedral-center.org

Mission Statement
The mission of The Cathedral Center, Inc. is to provide a safe environment for women and families while working to end homelessness, one life at a time.
Description
The Cathedral Center, Inc. is an emergency shelter for women and families who are homeless or experiencing a housing crisis. We offer emergency shelter, case management, and workforce development services to 32 single women and 8 families per day. We target a population that is vulnerable to victimization and are one of the only agencies in Milwaukee that serves individual women and single fathers with their children. Our shelter model also enables us to keep families intact, regardless of size or gender. Located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, we reach people who do not know where they will sleep next, who are doubled up, moving from house to house, or who have a pending eviction.
