Friendly Visitor

Be the light in the darkness! Become a Hospice Friendly Visitor Volunteer

We love our Volunteers! Our Friendly Visitors are vital to fulfilling the needs of our patients at the end of life.

Our volunteers serve a critical role on our team providing patients & families comfort, relief & joy during one of the darkest moments in their lives-offer respite, errand relief, companionship, play music/games, read & help in other meaningful ways.

Pet Therapy Volunteer

Our therapy pet program is vital to fulfilling the needs of our patients at the end of life.

Certified therapy pets & owners will bring joy and comfort to patients at the end of life. Therapy pets offer hospice patients comfort, bring back memories, encourage activity and provide unconditional love.

Therapy pets and their owners will fulfill needs of patients in their homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Volunteers pick the service locations and number of patients they would like to be assigned to. Flexible scheduling.

_______________
We proudly serve 11 southern IL counties. Volunteers serve patients in their homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in the following Southern IL Counties: Bond, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Randolph, Sangamon, St. Clair, Washington.

First step, please email or call to step up a time to meet our Volunteer Coordinator. There is an application process that includes a background check, two references as well as a two-step TB test. All are free of charge for the volunteer and required before meeting with patients. Once completed, volunteers can pick how many patients/families they would like to assist, hours/days they can help and the service area in which the patients are located.
