A Routine Visit
A Volunteer Guardian with her person!

The VGP trains and matches volunteers who become the legal "Guardian of the Person Only" or substitute decision-maker for individuals with no money, or family support, and whose ability to make personal & medical decisions has diminshed.

Those served usually live in a nursing home, group home, or other protected setting.

It is the volunteer's goal to enhance the equality of life for the person served by advocating for the best possible daily & medical care.

Someone needs you....because not everyone has someone.

The VGP also serves Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin & Pickaway Counties.

Mission Statement

To provide mature, caring volunteer guardians for individualsliving in a protected setting whose mental impairments so incapacitate them that the are unable to make sound personal decisions, in order to enhance the quality of their lives.

Description

It is often assumed that everyone has someone who will take care of them when they are unable to care for themselves. The fact is, not everyone has someone willing to be responsible for decision making. There are adults with mental incapacities in Central Ohio who do not have family or friends to assist them in this way. The need is growing.
