Volunteer positions currently available for Volunteer Teaching Assistants with local Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy program for individuals with special needs. Also available are opportunities for Facilities Barn Team volunteers helping with care and feeding of our therapy horses as well as assisting with farm maintenance and group classes. Learn about horses and horsemanship from our staff of professionals while helping others by donating your time. Horse experience is a plus. Positions include a commitment of 2 hours per week at the same day/time frame each week. Must be at least 14 years old, dependable and eager to learn. Description
Horses Make Miracles goals and objectives are to provide equine assisted activities and therapy to individuals of all ages who live with a wide range of physical, mental, emotional and cognitive special needs in a high quality, safe and professionally operated therapeutic riding center. Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy is widely recognized today as a highly effective therapeutic technique for participants of all ages. Studies have proven that Therapeutic Riding greatly enhances and even surpasses the benefits of traditional physical and behavioral therapy for many conditions. Horses Make Miracles has an existing professional operating plan, a variety of successful programs as well as an internship and certification program incorporating ethical training experiences in association with PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship).
