Description
Since our founding in 2013, PLUS ME has impacted over 150,000 middle and high school students from over 350 low-income schools across the LA area. We provide guest speaker presentations, storytelling workshops, writing workshops, and professional development programs for students, educators, and parents-all developed with guidance from experienced educators. We also offer two $1,000 scholarship opportunities (My Story Matters: LISTEN; My Story Matters: IMPACT). There are five awardees for each scholarship, meaning we provide a total of 10, $1,000 awards each year. Both require applicants to submit a 1500 word personal narrative which is read and scored by PLUS ME staff and volunteers.
