The Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) presents a well-rounded artistic experience that encompasses many different fine art forms, both visual and performance-based. Our aim is to engage the community in arts and cultural experiences.
The DCA could not operate without the support and dedication of community volunteers. Whether you have an artistic talent that you would like to share, or would just like to get involved, volunteering with the DCA is the perfect opportunity to give back to the community while enjoying and supporting the arts. We have in person and online volunteer opportunities. A few key areas we could use help in is in social media, gallery duties, coordinating volunteers, office assistance, community art projects, facility maintenance and more.
This is an unpaid volunteer position; however, it can also equate to an internship with exchanged hours worked for college class credit. You are also able to earn credit hours from a non-profit organization for your group and/or place of employment (honor societies, scouts, etc.). We would be happy to make arrangements to accommodate this. Weekly commitment hours are up to you (typically at least a few) or can be determined by an internship. This position can be ongoing, but we would like your engagement for at least 2-3 months.
