Volunteer Job Title: Outreach Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic connector of people? Passionate about creating equity in educational opportunities? Do you value diversity, multilingualism and multiculturalism? Help us spread the word about the free programs and services that we offer throughout Hillsborough county!

Purpose of Position: The Outreach Assistant helps to develop brand awareness and community outreach by participating in community events and outreach activities.


Work Location:

  • Central Office- RDWL Center - 8056 N. 56th St. Tampa, FL 33617

  • Hillsborough County (Field)


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Represents ReDefiners at local community events

  • Seeks additional community outreach opportunities for ReDefiners to build brand awareness

  • Disseminates flyers and marketing material for all ReDefiners events and programs


Length of Appointment: Ongoing


Time Commitment:

Approx. 2-10 Hours per week

Support:

  • Outreach Coordinator will provide expectations and guidance where applicable

Requirements:

  • Ability to volunteer for at least 3-months

  • Strong Communication skills; oral and written

  • Experience Networking

  • Able to communicate enthusiasm about mission

  • Able to develop rapport and nurture ongoing relationships with individuals and organizations

  • Proactive work ethic

  • Able to work well independently and within a team environment

Description

Our organization is deeply grounded in our core values. We believe all children, regardless of background, are capable and deserving of language learning opportunities, language learning needs to begin before age 10, intercultural education and authentic relationships promote greater peace and in today’s society, students need to become global citizens.

Founded by a full-time educator, parent, and advocate for language learning, ReDefiners is a non-profit organization that prides itself in being a pioneer in the early language education programing in Hillsborough County. The organization is made up of qualified teachers, international student volunteers and business professionals who are passionate about language and cultural education. We offer language classes in Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish and English to youth and adults.
