Gentiva Hospice volunteers are a vital asset to our organization and especially to our patients. Hospice companionship volunteers work directly with patients in their homes or in facilities to provide non-medical companionship to patients and their families. Our volunteers read books, listen to music, play games, lend a listening ear, and create memories with our patients and their families. When caregivers need a break or have errands to run, our volunteers step in to help out. Volunteers may assist with meal preparation, errands, and light household chores if requested. Volunteer experience at Gentiva Hospice is meant to match your skill set and abilities, so each volunteer has a personalized volunteer experience. Volunteers provide non-medical companionship and DO NOT perform any medical duties. No medical experience required.
At Gentiva Hospice we believe that every moment matters in the lives of our patients. Our volunteers help ensure that every moment counts. Our patients love our volunteers and the time you give is invaluable to a patient and their family during a very difficult season in their lives.
