VITAS is looking to match talented volunteers with elders near the end of life, who have a tale to tell. Life Story volunteers capture a patient’s meaningful moments and can develop a "digital or web-based biography" featuring the patient recalling his or her life stories.
VITAS Volunteer orientation is provided free of charge to help you learn many skills required to be an outstanding life story volunteer. Volunteers will also receive training in "life story/review" interview techniques and to improve their technical and creative skills. Time and dates are ongoing and flexible.
